Seamless Integration into the Landscape
The curved design of the bridge masterfully harmonizes with the topography, creating a smooth connection between urban spaces and natural landscapes. This thoughtful curvature extends the bridge and allows for a gentle 3.2% incline in key areas, eliminating the need for additional structural adjustments.
This ensures that the bridge blends seamlessly into the landscape, providing users with a pleasant and barrier-free experience while respecting the ecological context.
Innovative ecological design
The bridge design carefully considers existing infrastructure, such as railway masts and power lines, maintaining the necessary clearances and eliminating the need for additional protective measures.
By optimizing the alignment and repositioning certain components, the design ensures compliance with safety regulations while enhancing the bridge's integration into the landscape.
Harmonious integration of the bridge into the natural landscape
Special attention was given to preserving the existing trees, with only two needed to be removed for the bridge's construction. This underscores the project's commitment to maintaining the ecological integrity of the area.
The bridge's curved path allows it to weave harmoniously through the tree canopy, offering pedestrians a unique and immersive experience.
Enhanced urban connectivity and experience
Strategically placed observation platforms along the bridge offer perspectives of the surroundings. The larger platform on the city side offers panoramic views of the historic city center and the vibrant landscapes of the state horticultural show.
The smaller platform, nestled between treetops, creates a closer connection to nature, allowing visitors to experience the dynamic interaction between play areas and the natural tree canopy.
The bridge design also incorporates interactive elements like swings with extended ranges beneath the structure, further reinforcing its role as a connecting element in the play and experience areas.
This integration fosters a deeper engagement with the environment and enriches the overall user experience.
